Extremitas Journal of Lower Limb Medicine

Another way to further develop writing skills from a more research and scientific focused outlet is through the Extremitas Journal.

Although the Extremitas Journal of Lower Limb Medicine is not directly affiliated with Body and Sole's website publications, this is another avenue for students to publish their research in a printed scientific journal.

The purpose of Extremitas Journal is to invite WesternU students to participate in the tradition of peer-review research. The editing staff is comprised entirely of podiatry students. Throughout the academic year, the Extremitas editing team advertises to WesternU campus to submit articles, edits submissions through a multi-step process, and publish a new edition each spring. The team also devotes time to fundraise for the cost of printing each year.

Articles published in Extremitas have the purpose of advancing the care and medical treatment involving the lower extremity. Students who submit publications are able to take part in the writing process of scientific research papers, and have the opportunity to develop skills useful in residency and beyond.

Articles submitted to be published in Extremitas can be submitted each winter to:

ExtremitasJournal@WesternU.edu

The 5th annual publication of Extremitas Journal of Lower Limb Medicine will be released April 2018!
